Urgent dental care

What we treat, same day where possible

Whatever the emergency, the goal of your first visit is simple: relieve the pain, stabilise the problem and give you a clear plan — with the cost explained before treatment begins.

Toothache & swelling

Persistent or severe tooth pain usually means something needs attention now. We'll find the cause and get you comfortable.

Chipped or broken tooth

From a small chip to a major break — we can often restore the tooth in a single visit and protect it from further damage.

Knocked-out tooth

Time matters most here. Keep the tooth moist (in milk if you can), avoid touching the root, and call us straight away.

Lost filling or crown

An exposed tooth is vulnerable and often sensitive. We'll protect it quickly and restore it properly.

Dental abscess or infection

Swelling, a bad taste or throbbing pain can signal infection — it won't resolve on its own, so it's important to be seen promptly.

Wisdom tooth pain

Painful, erupting or infected wisdom teeth — assessed with 3D CBCT imaging so you know exactly what's going on.

Good to know

Emergency questions, answered

Can I really be seen today?
We reserve appointment time every business day specifically for dental emergencies. Call as early as possible and we'll do our best to see you the same day. The earlier in the day you call, the better the chance.
What will an emergency visit cost?
We're completely transparent with fees: at your emergency visit we diagnose the problem, explain your options and give you a personalised quote before any treatment goes ahead. With HICAPS, your health fund rebate is claimed on the spot so you only pay the gap — and Zip payment plans are available for larger treatment, subject to approval.
What should I do while I wait to be seen?
Call us first — our team will guide you based on your situation. As general guidance: for a knocked-out tooth, keep it moist (in milk is ideal) and avoid touching the root; for a lost filling or crown, keep the area clean and avoid chewing on that side; for swelling, a cold compress on the outside of the cheek can help. If there's severe facial swelling affecting breathing or swallowing, or major trauma, go to a hospital emergency department.
Do I need to be an existing patient?
No — new patients are welcome, including for emergencies. Bring your health fund card if you have one and we'll claim your rebate on the spot with HICAPS.
I'm anxious about the dentist — especially in pain. Can you help?
Yes. Our team is experienced with nervous patients, we'll explain everything before we start, and sedation options such as nitrous oxide are available. Being in pain is stressful enough — the visit itself doesn't have to be.
What if my emergency happens outside business hours?
Call us and follow the guidance on our message, or book online for the earliest available appointment and we'll prioritise you when we open. For severe swelling affecting breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding or facial trauma, don't wait — go to your nearest hospital emergency department.
